What Is Juvéderm?

Benefits and Drawbacks of Juvéderm

Juvéderm is a non-surgical treatment that works well for facial rejuvenation, augmentation, and sculpting. It provides instantaneous results, meaning you can achieve a youthful look right after the injection. The fillers also have infused anesthetic lidocaine, minimizing pain during and after treatment.
 

There’s little risk of allergic reaction with Juvéderm. This is because hyaluronic acid is a substance that the body naturally produces. In case you don’t like the results, the fact it uses a hyaluronic acid base makes the fillers easy to dissolve. Juvéderm also has longer-lasting results than other fillers.
 

Its results, however, are temporary. If you want to maintain your youthful skin, you’ll need touch-ups. You should also know that it’s not a substitute for plastic surgery and doesn’t suit every situation. After treatment, expect some tenderness, swelling, and bruising, but they will disappear in a few days.
 

Juvéderm can last six to 18 months, depending on the formula and how much was injected. Of the different types, Ultra XC and Volbella XC can usually last a year. On the other hand, Ultra Plus XC can last a year or more. Of all, Vollure XC lasts the longest, up to 18 months. Many who have tried Juvéderm say it’s worth it.
