Kybella Treatment for Double Chin
A common complaint among both men and women, excess fat beneath the chin can be difficult to treat. Kybella is a revolutionary minimally-invasive,FDA-approved injectable treatment that can reduce fat deposits and improve the contour of jawline.
How Does Kybella Work?
Approved by the Food and Drug Administration to treat under-the-chin or submental fat, Kybella is non-surgical alternative to liposuction. Kybella contains deoxycholic acid, a fat-absorbing molecule that the body produces. When injected, the active ingredient selectively breaks down fat cells, leaving them to be processed by the body’s natural elimination system. As the body sweeps the fat out, definition around the chin area will gradually improve.
For optimal results, multiple treatments may be needed. The precise number of treatments will vary from individual to individual, but most patients see final results after 2-6 treatments. Treatments should be spaced about one month apart.
Benefits of Kybella
- Permanent removal of under-the-chin fat. One the fat cells have been destroyed, they are permanently removed from the body.
- Quick and efficient treatments. A single treatment can be done in under a half an hour.
- No downtime needed. After a Kybella injection, patients can return to their normal daily activities. Some redness, swelling and bruising may be present at the injection site, but these minor side effects are temporary and typically subside within a few days.
Kybella was designed to specifically address submental fat; it cannot firm lax skin or improve muscle tone. Although Kybella treatments are convenient and incision-free, there is a small risk of nerve damage. Kybella injections should only be administered by a trained specialist.
