Volbella is uniquely formulated for use in the lips and around the mouth. Our team typically uses Volbella to:
Erase vertical lines around the lips (“smoker’s lines”)
Diminish marionette lines (the lines that extend downwards from the corners of the lips)
Make the lips fuller
Accentuate the border of the lips
Enhance the shape of the lips by giving more curve to the cupid’s bow (the ‘M’ shaped curve on the upper lip)
How Volbella works
Like other Juvéderm fillers, the active ingredient in Volbella is hyaluronic acid (HA), a naturally-occurring substance with an excellent safety profile. Volbella contains a unique formulation of HA that was developed using Allergan’s unique Vycross technology.
This improves the cross-linking efficiency of HA chains, resulting in an ultra-smooth gel that produces a long-lasting and natural result.
Your treatment with Volbella
Volbella treatments are performed in our New York office and take less than 45 minutes from start to finish. The injections are performed by Dr. Matarasso or Nurse Practitioner Tiffany Rice, who was the first Nurse Practitioner to be certified to perform Volbella injections in Manhattan! After a short consultation, Dr. Matarasso or Ms. Rice will determine the best locations for your Volbella injections. Then using a very fine needle, Volbella will be injected in and/or around the lips. Volbella contains lidocaine, so a separate anesthetic is not needed and most people do not find the treatment painful. Most of our patients experience very little swelling
